OUR MAY 1ST PLANT WALK HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER

NEXT MEETING: Wednesday, May 1st, 6:00pm

Spring Botany Plant Walk with Elizabeth Heck at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden

Understanding basic botanical characteristics is fundamental for learning how to positively identify plants. On this two part botany-based plant walk we will explore the plant patterns that help us to more easily identify them and learn their uses. Simple botanical terminology will be introduced along the way. We will also discuss plant classification, in particular, plant families which often have similar medicinal properties. Let's see what is emerging in the garden as the snow melts away this spring.

About Elizabeth:

Elizabeth is an inspirational herbal educator and writer imparting what she loves best, nurturing the human/plant connection. She teaches at herbal conferences locally and nationally with an emphasis on botany and plant identification. As an herbalist, she organically cultivates and formulates herbal medicines. Elizabeth is also a naturalist at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and a past Board member of the Minnesota Native Plant Society. She conducts endangered plant inventories and participates in native and medicinal plant conservation projects.

Special Note: Bring quarters for the parking meters or plan to park at Wirth Beach and walk over
