Just what we need after a long winter — a holistic skin care class focusing on beauty, anti–aging and feeling top form through the use of tonic herbs such as turmeric, nettle, burdock and dandelion root.

We will begin this class by making and drinking a strong detoxification tea that works directly with cleansing the blood and the skin. We will talk about the long-term and short-term impacts of regular detoxification, diet and exercise, and the benefits of essential oils.

Join us for beauty secrets and demonstrations for making your own teas, herbal masks and clays, dry brushing, herbal sea weed baths and much more.

Melissa Farris is a certified herbalist, aromatherapist and teacher. She has studied herbalism and aromatherapy for the past 15 years and teaches locally as well as internationally.

Melissa was inspired by Hildegard Von Bingen to start her first company, Veriditas Botanicals, in 1995. One year later she founded Simplers Botanical Company, LLC, an organic essential oil and herbal extract provider, located in Forestville, California. Melissa holds the distinction of being the first herbalist to bring organic essential oils to marketplace while refusing to sell endangered species. After selling Simplers in 2002, she moved back to her hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Melissa is also part owner of a small cooperative in Provence, France. She visits Veriditas Botanicals’ essential oil distilleries annually. Melissa has a deep respect for the growers and producers for whom she has worked with for over a decade. Melissa founded Veriditas Botanicals with the intention of working with only cooperative and independent distillers AND cooperative and independent stores.

Melissa continues to bring the consumer information on how pure essential oils can be used to promote a healthy lifestyle. She wrote Aromatherapy Guide to Essential Oils and is currently working on an in–depth book on aromatherapy.
