Remember those old horehound cough drops you use to get as a child? In our Making Herbal Cough Drops class Feb 5th, we will learn how to make these drops ourselves using basic ingredients and some candy making skills!!

We will all help in the production of preparing herbs, stirring the pot, and making balls of cough drops for you to take home.

Hopefully this will inspire you to try your hand at making your own medicines at home. The recipe is simple and contains some of our favorite winter herbs; horehound, echinacea, elderberry and wild cherry bark.

RECIPE

Selena Tunison Hi y’all! I’m a contradiction in terms. I was a Cosmetologist in the 1980s so I love herbal lotions, salves, and oils. I then became a Combat Medic and Practical Nurse, Army trained in the 1990s with a bunch of ER training. In the 2000s I became a nurse in the Birth Center at United Hospital. I’ve been at the OB/GYN clinic, Post Partum, Newborn Nursery, and now as a scrub nurse in Labor and Delivery. I love Western Herbalism but I was a grower first and learned everything I could about growing plants in Zone 4–5 during the long winter’s months and I’m from Alabama. So that’s where —y’all— came from and I hope I can be of service to you on your Herbal Journey.
