Ethnobiologist Marc Williams is traveling to us all the way from North Carolina! This is a unique opportunity to hear from a well-respected voice in the herbal & botanical world on a plant walk at our very own Powderhorn Park. This walk is a fundraiser for the guild: Please pay-what-you-can as a donation to NCHG (cash, check, PayPal, Venmo accepted at the event).

6:30 pm – 7:00 pm Tea & Social, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm Presentation at New City Center
(New City Center – 3104 16th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55407)

At our September meeting, Marc will be presenting on working with invasive plants. He’ll discuss plant family patterns and what they indicate regarding identification and ethnobotanical application of exotic invasive plants for food, medicine and beauty. A big focus of the class will underpin the opportunities to employ these plants and effectively make use of a problem by turning it into a resource. Together, we will take an in depth look at some of the prime exotic invasive plants occurring in the midwestern United States as well as a more general exotic invasive plant list of over 150 useful species from the region.
