The incidence of obesity and diabetes has increased dramatically in the last 50 years. This is most likely due to a shift in the standard American diet (aka SAD). This workshop will discuss the possible explanations for this epidemic to include:

  • The calorie hypothesis
  • The lipid hypothesis
  • The carbohydrate hypothesis
  • The food signaling hypothesis
