Tincturing By Percolation
Greetings Herbal Enthusiasts!
February 4th meeting we will explore the technique of “Tincturing By Percolation.” This is taken from the book by James Greene. The Herbal Medicine–Maker’s Handbook: A Home Manual Selena and the Guild will lead the way for this hands–on class in exploring a fast method to prepare medicine when you are short on time. Plus it is FUN!!
You will need to bring a glass water bottle and a mason jar. A one liter Crystal Geyser or Calistoga–like water bottle. The water bottle–cap helps regulate the percolation and fits nicely into a wide–mouthed mason canning jar.
There will be a $5.00 fee to cover the cost of the herbs and vodka.
You will bring some home to enjoy in your mason jar.
See you then and get ready for a fun–filled informative year!!
Selena Tunison Hi y’all! I’m a contradiction in terms. I was a Cosmetologist in the 1980s so I love herbal lotions, salves, and oils. I then became a Combat Medic and Practical Nurse, Army trained in the 1990s with a bunch of ER training. In the 2000s I became a nurse in the Birth Center at United Hospital. I’ve been at the OB/GYN clinic, Post Partum, Newborn Nursery, and now as a scrub nurse in Labor and Delivery. I love Western Herbalism but I was a grower first and learned everything I could about growing plants in Zone 4–5 during the long winter’s months and I’m from Alabama. So that’s where —y’all— came from and I hope I can be of service to you on your Herbal Journey.
