Phyto–chemistry made easy… is that possible? An exploration in phytochemicals: considering where they come from, why the plant makes them and how they work for us.

Mary Schmidt‘s wandering in the woods as a youngster, started a life long love for nature, and especially plants. This lead to an education in horticulture, landscape, herbalism and a long standing stint as a Hennepin County Master Gardener. She owns her own business in landscape gardening, specializing in Permaculture design. Attending a Master‘s program in herbal studies spurred an interest to more deeply understanding the plants‘ relationship and affect on us, and lead to ongoing research in ethnobotany.
